Warmer days are just around that corner, and Media’s Tyler Arboretum wants us to take full advantage of them. Starting next month, visitors will have significantly more time to explore the 650-acre preserve. “We’ve seen a surge in visitors and interest in our online programming during the pandemic, but we recognize that not everyone could make it to Tyler during our traditional opening hours,” says Mandy Santiago, the arboretum’s executive director.
March 1-Oct. 31, the Delaware County arboretum will be open daily from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. That’s a 16-hour bump over last year. “Between increased screen time and the amount of time we’re spending in our homes, we wanted the peace and presence of our natural landscapes to be more accessible,” Santiago says.
