A one-hour session is $30 per person and a two-hour session is $40 per person, with 15 minutes dedicated to training for first-time throwers. West Chester’s Tilted Axes teaches visitors how to throw an axe in a casual, urban atmosphere. Plus, you can enjoy a number of other activities like a full dance floor, pool tables and video games. Sessions typically last around two hours and start at $38.99. You have the option to BYOB or have beer and wine delivered from Saloon 151.

Urban Axes

Axe throwing originally took off competitively in rural Canada. The team behind Urban Axes wanted to bring the sport to a more metropolitan area, as the name suggests. This Kensington-based spot, which is 21-plus, specializes in large group events, from team building to bachelor or bachelorette parties, with dedicated walk-in hours. Bookings start at $38, and the location is BYOB.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House

Stumpy’s has been a big name in the axe throwing business since 2015, when Stuart and Kelly Josberger and their close friends Mark and Trish Oliphant started an impromptu game of axes. Since then, they’ve expanded across the country and landed in Lancaster and Bucks counties and will debut two new locations in Chester and Montgomery counties. Prices starts at $25 an hour for groups of one to four and $40 for two hours for groups of five or more. You can bring your own food, and Stumpy’s even has a pour-your-own beer system.

Splitting Edge Axe Throwing

Splitting Edge has been throwing axes since 2018, with locations in both Pottstown and Malvern. The facility is made entirely out of wood, handcrafted and designed to captivate and engage the ancient art of axe throwing. The venue offers either hour or two-hour sessions, as well as group parties for any occasion. Before axe throwing, visitors must fill out a waiver and wear close-toed shoes. Both locations are BYOB and BYO food, with the option to get food delivered as well.

Kick Axe Throwing

Kick Axe Throwing is not just an axe throwing facility. It also has a regular bar and lounge to play games and enjoy a bite to eat or a drink or two. Axe throwing costs $30 per person for an hour-long session. The introduction starts with one of the highly trained Axe Pros, who will spend around 15 minutes covering the basics of axe throwing. Once guests have the hang of the axe throwing technique, they can start tossing! Assigned Axe Pros stand by to offer advice and track each party’s scores.
