Finally, spring is upon us, bringing with it such celebrated Main Line events as the Shipley School Secret Gardens Tour on May 15. Shipley takes the traditional home tour fundraiser outdoors for the 39th year, introducing guests to an array of Main Line gardens from Newtown Square to Devon, each unique in style and design.
In keeping with tradition, properties remain a secret until the day of the tour; at each spot, experts will point out highlights and answer questions. Along with the self-guided tour, you can choose between a seated buffet luncheon at the Willows in Villanova or an informal boxed lunch. Be prepared to do some shopping at the Willows’ garden boutique, with area vendors like Lisi Lerch, Gracelina, Chairloom, Friendz Inc. and Gingy’s. Plants and flowers will also be available, along with works from a plein air art show featuring Main Line Art Center exhibition coordinator Deirdre Murphy, Wayne’s Angela Scully, well-known local artist Dori Spector and others.
