Carmel’s festive Share & Pair menu kicks off with an enticing short list of dishes made for splitting, from Basque crab cakes with avocado salad, to crispy scallops wrapped in prosciutto accented with tomato jam. Three-cheese arancini, red and yellow roasted beet salad, and lobster bisque finish off the roundup of this globally inspired tasting.
Entrees geared to red or white wine lovers make up the bulk of this weekend’s featured menu. A Mosel, Germany-imported, semi-sweet Riesling will impress those attracted to the lighter side, which happens to be coupled with appealing seafood-heavy entrees like a duo of cold water lobster tails and seared tuna dressed with red wine reduction.
A medium-bodied Italian Chianti and a dry, full-bodied Pinot Noir were hand-selected for diners adoring the reds, with options like chicken Madeira and pappardelle bolognese elevating those pairings.
