Looking back 105 years, the Germans still hadn’t lost World War I, women did not have the right to vote in America and Babe Ruth had only hit nine career home runs. That same year, Rusticraft Fence Company opened in Malvern.
There at 439 E King Road, it stood through the rise and fall of both fascism and communism in Europe, through the moon landing, your birth (and probably your parent’s births, too) and even COVID-19. But as of May 2023, this Main Line institution finally closed its doors in Malvern.
For those lamenting the final stand of this vaunted establishment, fret not!
In late-June, Pennsylvania’s longest continuously operated fence company will open its new design center in Wayne, aiming to provide another 105 years of service to a new community.
After more than a century of service installing fences and providing support to DIY projects around Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia County, Rusticraft will continue its touted history. Looking to service any and all needs, Rusticraft provides wood, vinyl and aluminum fencing for pools, backyards, decoration and more.
“Moving storefronts after such a storied history was not an easy choice, but to ensure that Rusticraft remains open for the next 105 years, we needed to make bold new decisions,” says Steve Lauriello, partner at Rusticraft Fence Company. “Our new home in Wayne will be like visiting a specialty paint store, but for fencing. You can find everything you want and install yourself or have it installed. We want to make finding and installing great fences in Philadelphia simpler.”
The new showroom will feature hundreds of different fence styles in the three aforementioned materials (wood, vinyl and aluminum), support services for any level of installation (for those looking to install their own fence for the 10th time to those seeking to have their fence installed for them) and a new 10-year craftsmanship guarantee warranty.
