A new café has opened in Bala CynwydTrail’s End Café. The historic building, located in Septa’s Cynwyd Train Station, has been closed to morning commuters for over 40 years. Now open for business, it serves as the hub between the Cynwyd line into the city and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail that then feeds into the region’s network of cycling and walking trails.

This community has so many active and involved people, supporting so many projects to enrich the lives of its residents. We saw the need for a hub, a place people can meet and a place to connect,” says co-owner, Julia Barol. “Customers are encouraged to work around the large community table, use our free WiFi, or get together in one of the smaller private spaces at the café,” she continues. The café will also be host to rotating local art as well as a variety of events which have started with a board games night and a writer’s workshop.

“We also want to be known as providing the very best food and beverages possible,” adds co-owner Tracy Katz. The menu features coffee made by local roaster Green Street Coffee, sweet and savory pastries from Mount Airy’s High Point Bakery, soft-serve ice cream from Upstate Farms and a daily selection of paninis. Also available are assorted nuts, snacks, drinks, yogurts and smoothies to grab and go before or after hitting the trail. Open 7 a.m.–9 p.m. daily. www.trailsend.cafe, 375 Conshohocken State Road, Bala Cynwyd, (484) 429-9514.

After a successful three years, Farmer’s Road Drive Thru will be closing its doors. The Chadds Ford outpost will officially shut on June 25. The owners are looking to bring Farmer’s Road to new territories and are actively scouting new drive thru locations in the area. If you are still craving some of Farmer’s Road’s healthy and tasty menu items, head to Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon, just a few miles away in Glen Mills (243 Baltimore Pike), for its fresh juices, shakes and healthy snacks.
