Restaurant Cerise’s Chef Benjamin Thomas isn’t just a star in his kitchen. The local chef is headed to the small screen, where he will compete on the season finale of Food Network’s popular cooking competition, Beat Bobby Flay.

In the episode, Chef Thomas goes head-to-head against Miami’s Chef Adrianne Calvo in a battle to see which contender has what it takes to make Bobby Flay go down in flames. Actor Anthony Anderson and The Kitchen’s Jeff Mauro referee the action.

“I wouldn’t have envisioned myself on a television cooking competition show, but things fell into place and it was an excellent opportunity,“ says Thomas. “It was great to get to showcase another area of the Philadelphia food scene and to demonstrate the from-scratch cooking we are doing at Restaurant Cerise.”

When asked for a sneak peek at the show’s outcome, Thomas demurred, “I can’t give anything away, so you’ll have to watch, but I can say that it was a challenging and fun experience.”

The episode will air on Food Network on Thursday, May 26, at 10 p.m. For more information on the episode, visit www.foodnetwork.com.
