Her style: I never want to appear as though I tried too hard on my outfit. Because I didn’t. I dress like a girly girl, but I always add something extra but small for fun.
Fashion roots: As the youngest of three girls, I can’t remember a time when fashion wasn’t at the forefront of every day. In kindergarten, I had my red, sparkly plastic, one-inch Wizard of Oz heels. I felt beautiful wearing them.
How fashion captivates her: Happiness is my passion, and that landed me in my current store as a customer. I had a gala to attend and went into the most sparkly store around. I became friends with the owner, and when she was ready to sell, she approached me and said she didn’t want to sell to anyone else—and that the dress business was meant for me.
Indispensable wardrobe items: My rose-gold Birkenstocks and high-waisted jean shorts with heart back pockets.
Favorite places to shop: My favorite store growing up on the Main Line was, hands down, Bala Girls Club. Currently, I love the Pink Turtle in Glen Mills and Latrice in Bryn Mawr.
Style icon: I’ve always been in awe of Scarlett O’Hara and her whimsical, romantic beauty and femininity. As for current celebrities, I think fashion blogger Stassi Schroeder is the cutest.
Best fashion buy ever: Right after my divorce, I was in Latrice and fell in love with a pair of boots. As a mom on a budget, the thought of spending $1,000 on boots was absurd, but I decided that day that you only live once. They’re a nude, over-the-knee Italian boot that you can fold over to make shorter or even slouchy. They’re versatile and stunning and make me happy every time I get them out of my closet.
Thoughts on aging: I’m a 17-year-old girl at heart. Age doesn’t matter to me.
Indispensable accessory: My LV bags.
Makeup tip every woman can appreciate: One of the first videos I plan on posting for my up-and-coming YouTube channel is going to be about proper mascara application. Most girls are not applying mascara properly. If you do it right, your entire face looks amazing.
Favorite fragrance: Victoria’s Secret body mist.
Fashion no-no: Underwear that doesn’t fit.
Why fashion matters: In a world where many people feel out of control, I love that there’s something every one of us gets to control. Once you add a good costume, the world seems abundant and happy.
