Match made in heaven: I’d heard rumblings in recent months of a restaurant collaboration between Philadelphia restaurateur Stephen Starr and Talula’s Table owner Aimee Olexy. Well, folks, it seems that, come spring 2011, the duo will indeed go into business together. The restaurant doesn’t have a name yet, but it’s expected to open at 210 W. Washington Square, the former site of Starr’s place of the same name. And with the yearlong wait for reservations Olexy currently enjoys at her acclaimed farm-to-table spot in Kennett Square, I’m expecting great things.
Open for business: All of a sudden, the Main Line dining scene is buzzing with new eateries opening at a steady clip. One of the latest is Sweetgreen (sweetgreen.com), a healthy, casual enclave in Ardmore’s Suburban Square, which sources local and organic ingredients for fresh salads, soups, sides and frozen yogurt. Then there’s Hummus, the new Middle Eastern restaurant in the Ardmore Plaza Shopping Center. And you should also think about heading to Manayunk to grab a bite at the rustic Italian eatery Agiato (agiatophila.com), where pressed sandwiches, salads, soups, coffee and lots of wine are the specialties.
