Italian Stays—Everyone Else Out
Things are finally up and running at Trattoria San Nicola’s former Berwyn outpost. The new Italian BYO is called Alfredo (alfredobyo.com), named after owner Alfredo Giannaccari, also one of the partners behind the Newtown Grill in Newtown Square.
Tea Time
Soups, sandwiches and old-fashioned desserts are on the menu at Berwyn’s Royal Tea House (royalteahouse.net), now in the Lancaster Avenue space formerly occupied by Berwyn Coffee Company. You’ll also find lots of funky teapots and plenty of loose tea.
TGI … Thursday?
If you’re up for the drive, Dettera Restaurant & Wine Bar (dettera.com) in Ambler is hosting its second Harvest Wine Festival Nov. 18. This year’s event features wine from more than six different regions, paired with food representing each region. Far from a stuffy sitdown affair, this mix-and-mingle event is designed to inspire good wine conversation—and sipping. A percentage of the proceeds from the festival benefit Angel Flight East, which facilitates free air transportation for seriously ill patients requiring treatment far from home.
