How she made her name in the fashion world: In 2000, one of her bridesmaid dresses was picked as a winner in a Today Show wedding contest. “It catapulted my career. I opened a boutique in New York. When I moved to the Main Line to raise my family, I converted a barn next to my house into a showroom that’s by appointment only. I design jackets, skirts, pants, dresses and coats—all made to order.”

Her style: “I like to mix classics with more trendy pieces—a perfect pencil skirt, open-toe stilettos, a fun, silky blouse and great earrings. I also love color mixed with neutrals.”

Go-to dressy outfit for a Saturday night out: A dress, high heels and a tailored evening coat.

Favorite labels: Valentino, Chloé, Miu Miu, DVF, J.Crew.

Winter trends she loves: Dressy metallics and sequins worn casually. “They’re not just for black-tie or Christmas parties anymore. I also love little fitted jackets, instead of sweaters.”

She considers herself: A clotheshorse. “I saved all my special clothes and shoes from my editor days at Harper’s Bazaar, Mirabella and Marie Claire. I still wear them, even though they’re close to 15 years old. They’re timeless.”

Style icon: Kate Moss. “She puts on a pair of jeans, flats, a great necklace and a funky jacket, and she starts a trend.”

Her splurge: “The classic pieces I’ll have forever. Nothing excites me more than a beautifully made dress that fits perfectly.”
