About her blog: The Motherchic was started in my second year as a stay-at-home mom. As a former elementary school teacher, I needed a creative outlet. Motherhood isn’t always glamorous, but there’s no shame in trying. If I can introduce my readers to some cute new booties or a great date-night top, my work is done.
Favorite designers: In terms of denim: AG, J Brand, Frame and Blank. Calvin Klein has never made anything I didn’t like. Stella McCartney is also super-talented—I love her versatility.
Currently wearing: I love big, cozy sweaters with a little “shoulder interest.” I’m always freezing, so it’s the perfect way to show a flash of skin while being warm at the same time.
She’s a: Shoe lover. As a busy mom of four, I’m often rushing out of my house in the morning with little time to think about what I’m wearing. Having a few outfit-making shoes is an easy way to distract from an otherwise bland outfit.
Style icons: I look to my little sister, Abby, to keep me on top of all of the latest trends—her outfits are always spot-on and effortless. My grandmother is the epitome of classic style and believes in quality over quantity.
Items that get the most wear: I have some necklaces and earrings that have special meaning. My husband bought them when we had our sons.
