Personal decorating style: Classic and comfortable.

Favorite room in her house: My living room—I created an office in the back. It’s the most feminine room in my house, with pink accents. With its family photos and art that I love, it’s a space to inspire me when I’m working and spending time with friends.

Designer who inspires her: Tory Burch. She’s not an interior designer, but her sense of color is amazing. Her homes and stores are an inspiration for how the use of color can affect a space.

Favorite design advice: Often, people start making changes before coming up with a solid plan. Taking the time to really think about your home and how you want it to function isn’t something you should rush. In most cases, great design doesn’t just happen.

Color she couldn’t design without: Navy. I consider it a colorful neutral.

Design elements she likes to incorporate into a space: Trim and moldings are important. A large mirror also does wonders. It can add drama and make a room look larger.

Favorite design trend of the moment: I am a big fan of wallpaper, and it’s back in a big way. Dining rooms, powder rooms and foyers are great places for a print.

Three words that sum up her design: Functional, timeless, personal.
