Personal style: “I’m a girly-girl. I love to dress up. I wear dresses and heels even on weekend afternoons, hanging around the house. I like to mix-and-match fabrics, colors and styles. Great accessories are a must. I’m big into sequins and sparkles. I’m not afraid to break fashion rules—like wearing white after Labor Day, pink sequins to rock concerts or frilly dresses to a sporting event.”
Where she shops: “Skirt in Bryn Mawr always has a wonderful selection of the latest styles. I like Anthropologie in Wayne for fun pieces. If I need sportswear, it’s Out There Outfitters, also in Wayne.”
Favorite designers: DVF, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta. “I also love up-and-coming designers like (Main Liner) D. Lasprogata. I mix high-end designers with staples from Gap, J.Crew and sometimes even Target.”
Spring clothing trends she loves: Pleated dresses and skirts. “They’re so sexy and playful. Lace and eyelets are incredibly elegant, though seductive.”
She’s an: Accessories person. “They make the outfit. Even in communist Russia, my grandmother was quite a fashionista in her day. She always told me, ‘Invest in fine shoes, lingerie and accessories, and the dress won’t matter.’”
Style icons: “Grace Kelly and Princess Diana always had a perfect mixture of class, sophistication and panache. Duchess Kate and I share very similar views on fashion. She’s so graceful, refined, unpretentious and effortless. I love observing her trends and picking up a tip or two.”
Favorite clothing splurges: Cashmere sweaters, European lingerie (“One can never feel frumpy having decadence close to their skin”), shoes. “I have plenty of Kate Spade and Jimmy Choos in my collection.”
