Q&A: Threads on Main’s Anna Purcell

The owner of the Manayunk boutique shares her personal style.

Personal style: A blend of casual-prep meets fashion forward. I always like to pick up on a seasonal trend to pair with more timeless pieces.

Favorite designers: DL1961. They know how to make a jean, and they look amazing on all shapes and sizes. Generation Love, Parker NY, Bailey 44, Greylin, Stateside and Michael Stars all do a great job of creating collections that carry timeless pieces while perfectly executing the season’s best trends.

Winter trends she’s currently wearing: Sweaters with bell sleeves and lots of ruffles. My favorite winter trend is velvet. I’ve incorporated the trend by bringing in velvet blouses, tops and dresses. I especially love our black velvet pants, which have a black grosgrain racing stripe down the leg. They’re versatile and easy to dress up or dress down.

Spring fashions she’s looking forward to: Gingham, eyelet tops, pastel colors, feminine floral prints and vertical stripes. Pearl embellishments will provide a pretty, simple accent.

Splurges: Cashmere sweaters, blazers or little black dresses. I try to keep my splurges on pieces that are great quality, with timeless colors and silhouettes.

Favorite item in her closet: Chloe Susanna boots.

Items in her closet that get the most wear: Denim. Right now, I’m wearing the AG Farrah ankle, the DL1961 Margaux and the Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Rise.
