Q&A: Main Line YMCA Volunteer of the Year Lindley Thomas

The Ardmore resident tells us what led her to the Y and other tidbits about her life.

Lindley Thomas, 26, Ardmore

Main Line YMCA Volunteer of the Year

» Her profession: I’m a therapist at Safe Harbor Christian Counseling in Delaware, and a member of 6:8 Community of Faith in Ardmore. Their focus on community relevance and involvement led me to the Y.

» Coolest thing about her job: Getting to be a part of people’s “aha” moments. It’s really humbling and inspiring to play a role in seeing people’s lives change.

» Last thing she read: The Harry Potter series. I read them all on the beach in Avalon this year.

» Last thing she ate that she loved: The coq au vin at A la Maison in Ardmore.

» Role models: I’ve always looked up to women who aren’t afraid to be themselves and who really have a heart to care deeply for others. I’m fortunate that I can see that in women in my everyday life—like my mom, my sister and my church friends.

» Perfect vacation: A warm, beachy place with my husband, with lots of food and yummy drinks with umbrellas in them.

» What she likes most about herself: I can get excited about almost anything.

» Pet peeve: People who drive recklessly.
