Last night, I was invited to a bridal showcase at Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills. If you’ve never been to Terrain, go. Now. In a word, it’s amazing.
By day it’s a garden, nursery and café from the creators of Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. At night, one of the charming buildings on-site hosts weddings or other celebratory occasions. The rustic sophisticated charm of the space is unlike any other in the area. The space looked breathtaking with dimmed lights and tables set up with elaborate floral centerpieces and candles aplenty. A number of area wedding vendors that I was familiar with were in attendance including Alison Conklin Photography, Two Paperdolls, and Sullivan Owen Floral and Event Design.
Some surprises included BHLDN, the uber-chic wedding line also of the Anthropologie family. I knew they had an amazing array of wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses, but I didn’t know that they have style coordinators who can help you with the overall look and presentation of your wedding.

Since invitations have been a priority, I loved discovering Aperçu Calligraphy. Based in West Chester, the owner, Charis Fisher, does gorgeous modern calligraphy. It truly looks like art on the envelope. Fisher graciously agreed to have her work highlighted in an upcoming blog, so keep your eyes out for that in the coming weeks.
Since all weddings deserve a sweet ending, it’s no surprise that Little Baby’s Ice Cream cart had a line in front of it the entire evening. Little Baby’s brings its mobile ice cream cart, pulled by a custom tricycle, to your wedding providing a unique, retro flair to the traditional food truck. Its one-of-a-kind homemade flavors like Birch Beer Vanilla Bean and Vegan Coconut Chai are so yummy and will leave a lasting impression on your guests.
Another sweet surprise last night was Coco Love, in Philadelphia, which has the most delicious alternatives to traditional wedding desserts including Whoopie Pies and Bruffins (brownies shaped like muffins). If my reception site didn’t already have an elaborate dessert station included in my package, I’d be ordering the Red Alert Whoopie Pies (red velvet cakes with cream cheese filling) along with Cheesecake Bruffins (brownie on the bottom and cheesecake on top) by the dozens for my big day.

The Bellevue Gets Engaged: The Hyatt at the Bellevue is the place to be this Sunday, March 4 from 1-5 p.m. Nicole Miller Philadelphia will showcase the latest bridal gown styles during an exciting fashion show with Hugo Boss. The list of vendors is impressive and includes names like Susan Beard Photographers, Casa Papel, Sweet Elizabeth’s Cakes, ShutterBooth, Lamsback Floral Decorators and CTO Music Artists, among several others. Tickets are $50 and are available at bellevuephiladelphia.com.
Wedding Wednesday: The closest I’m getting to Hawaii this year is at the Philadelphia Flower Show, so I’m definitely not missing Wedding Wednesday on March 7 from 5:30-8:30pm. The evening will cater to brides-to-be and their friends, offering them the opportunity to meet with some of the area’s top wedding vendors. Guests will also receive a premium gift bag filled with bridal-related swag. Tickets are $40, which includes admission to the Flower Show.
