Planning a Wedding, Step One: Absorbing the Engagement

As senior editor Tara Behan’s new relationship status sinks in, she debuts a blog for her fellow brides-to-be.

“I’m engaged.” “I’m really getting married.” “The gorgeous cushion-cut diamond sitting on my ring finger really is mine. I don’t have to give it back.”

These are some things I’ve had to remind myself a few times a week. Even though it’s been months since Fourth of July weekend, when my hubby-to-be got on one knee and popped the big question on a Point Pleasant beach, it still feels surreal. And, as blissfully happy as I am, it’s a bit overwhelming.

This biweekly blog, Ms. to Mrs., is where I’ll share everything I’m learning about planning the biggest party of my life. And as you plan yours, fellow brides-to-be, I want to hear from you. If you have questions, I’ll find an expert to answer them, and I’ll share any suggestions I have. Email me at tbehan@mainlinetoday.com.

We all know planning a wedding can be stressful, but, as we approach the New Year, I resolve to let the fun outweigh the stress.
