Philly Restaurant Week Returns Jan. 22

PLUS: Pescatore brings rustic Italian cuisine to Bala Cynwyd, Restaurant Alba adds a bar, and more.

Weekend Eating

Paramour in the Wayne Hotel has been winning over local foodies with its lavish brunch, including a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar and a loaded appetizer station. And Gemelli on Main has added a weekend lunch menu—with a few breakfast dishes—to its already-stellar dinner menu. The Gemelli Bloody Mary with house-infused vodka is outrageous.

More to Love

Philly Restaurant Week is back. This time, many restaurants will offer a $20 three-course lunch, in addition to the standard $35 three-course dinner. Make your reservations now for Jan. 22-27 and Jan. 29-Feb. 3, and check centercityphila.org for a list of participants.

New in Town

Thomas Anastasi (Anastasi Seafood in the Italian Market) has opened Pescatore. Taking over the former Avril space in Bala Cynwyd, it specializes in rustic Italian cuisine. After teasing us for months with those delicious Facebook photos, Ella’s American Bistro is now open for business. For the most part, ingredients are from local organic and sustainable farms.

Change Is Good

A BYO no longer, Malvern’s Restaurant Alba has added more space and a proper bar. And Tredici Market in Wayne has moved its Italian specialty store around the corner from Louella Court to Lancaster Avenue.
