A chic and comfortable space for the modern man is the atmosphere Eric DeBella was aiming for when designing the new Philly Bloke in Wayne. The men’s hair studio recently relocated from its original space in Paoli.

“It’s a lounge-type club feel, where you’re coming into my house maybe, where you can help yourself to coffee, to a beer,” DeBella says.

One of just a few mens-focused grooming shops in the region, DeBella is seeing a number of father-son combos in the studio, which has grown in physical size thanks to the new space.

In addition to a new address, Philly Bloke also launched a product line featuring hair putties, clays and creams for menDeBella’s go-to is the hair cream since “it’s great for relaxed styles in bringing out the natural texture or blow-drying it to get volume and texture that will last throughout the day, he says.

Wanting to offer clients products that would meet their needs, DeBella saw a void in the market that he could fillThe new line is sold exclusively in-house and is sulfate and paraben-free and made with natural ingredients.

He sees such products and styling solutions as part of the continuing evolution of the modern man. “It’s not only about how we look, but its about how we feel, how we portray ourselves, how we treat others,” he explains.
