Paramour Hosts an Earthy Wine Tasting

The Wayne restaurant’s monthly wine tasting will focus on soil’s impact on the flavors of a region.

Paramour’s resident sommelier, Steven Gullo, hosts monthly guided wine tastings at the Wayne restaurant where attendees can learn proper tasting techniques, explore important grapes, identify key wine styles and determine their own wine preferences. On Thursday, March 24, at 6 p.m., guests can explore the topic “All About Soil.”

Wine grapes are grown in a vast variety of soil types around the world, and certain regions are highly regarded for the unique soils that influence the composition of the wine. This tasting will highlight wines that exhibit characteristics of minerality, from chalk in Chablis to gravel in Bordeaux. As Gullo explains the important role that soil and the vineyard’s land play in crafting fine wines, attendees can also savor hors d’oeuvres from Paramour’s kitchen, thoughtfully paired with wine selections that demonstrate the impact that soil can have on the flavors of the region.

The wine tasting is $40 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (610) 977-0600. For more information, visit www.paramourwayne.com.
