The long-awaited Parlor has opened in Suburban Square in Ardmore. The family- and group-friendly restaurant, which replaces The Saint James, is serving artisan-style wood-fired pizzas, pastas and salads in a newly energized, light-filled space, remodeled by Josh Otto of Otto Architects LLC.
“Parlor is an approachable and modern pizza and wine bar that will cater to the style and tastes of the surrounding community,” said owner Rob Wasserman. “We are excited to bring our style and hospitality to the Main Line to create a new option for casual dining.”
Parlor’s diverse, Italian-centric selections feature Old World favorites such as baked meatballs, garlic shrimp and calamari on the appetizer menu; pastas to include pappardelle with red wine–braised lamb, rigatoni Bolognese with beef and pork ragu, and linguine with crab, baby tomatoes, garlic and saffron; and an array of pizzas with catchy names: Sasquash (roasted butternut squash, sage, fontina and speck, drizzled with honey), Beastmode (salcissa, calabrese, pancetta, mozzarella, oregano and chile oil) and Buffy (shrimp, fresno chiles, salsa verde and garlic chips), to name a few. Six different salads and a lineup of sides are sure to appeal to veggie-lovers.
A draft wine by the glass program focuses on reasonably-priced Italian wines, starting at $6 per glass and $18 per bottle. Almost every menu item can be simplified to suit the tastes of younger guests, and a separate kids’ menu is available. Many items are available gluten-free.
Parlor hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–11 p.m. Parlor will take reservations for large parties of 6–15 guests only. Parties of 15 or more should make special arrangements with the restaurant.
