» Philanthropic elite: Chester County’s Bob and Jennifer McNeil were recently honored with the prestigious 2009 Jordan Award for their work on behalf of Handi-Crafters, Westtown School, Camp Dreamcatcher, Brandywine Hospital, Chester County Council, Bridge of Hope and other local organizations. The nomination came from Paoli’s Betty Moran, and the award was presented by Dr. Henry Jordan and his wife, Barbara, at the Chester County Community Foundation Legacy Awards in October.

» A fun night out: Musician Aaron Levinson, staff producer and A&R director for Ardmore’s Range Records, now has a regular Thursday-night gig at the Lounge at Chifa in Center City. Levinson’s most recent production is the acclaimed Rediscovering Lonnie Johnson CD. His Libertad Records—co-founded with Wynnewood’s John Robertson—made a national splash when its Spanish Harlem Orchestra won a 2005 Grammy Award.

» Shane knows sushi: I’m hoping to catch another glimpse of the Phillies’ Shane Victorino at Bluefin. I was at the Plymouth Meeting sushi spot when the outfielder made an appearance the night after the team’s final win over the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Wish I had the scoop on where he’ll be spending the off-season.
