Michaela Fallon and Avriel Reyes Harvey’s Morris Arboretum Wedding

The college sweethearts’ nuptials took place on June 29, 2018.

With several years separating them, it was unlikely that Michaela Fallon and Avriel Reyes Harvey would meet in college at North Carolina State University. But their paths crossed at their campus ministry—and again when the two signed up for a spring break service trip in 2015.

At the time, she was a freshman and he a senior. On their second date, they went to Duke Gardens. Two years later, in July 2017, Avy took Michaela back—and among the flowers, he proposed. “It was just the two of us,” says Michaela, who grew up in Germantown and whose family later moved to Springfield Township.

Nature would become a common theme in their relationship. Prior to their engagement, the two came to Pennsylvania over winter break, visiting Morris Arboretum. So when it came time to choose a venue for their wedding, “it seemed really right for us,” Michaela recalls.

Flowers: “I wanted some contrasting flowers—some light ones, some dark ones and some really colorful ones, especially in the bridesmaid’s bouquet.”

Cake: “It faded from pink to white. I thought the ombré was a funky, trendy thing I could incorporate.”
