We’re sad to report that Tagine, which we reported was closed temporarily in January, will not be returning. Larielle Wood Fired Square Pie will take its spot at 111 W. State Street.
Brazuca, a Brazilian restaurant that was located at 1032 N. Providence Road, is now shuttered, but not for long. Media Bean Company, a collaboration between DiFabio’s 9th Street Catering Company founder Frank Agovino and Jim Wurster, co-founder of New Avenue Foundation, a nonprofit public charity whose mission is to help create more meaningful lives for people with disabilities, is moving into the spot. One key part of Media Bean’s mission is to help find gainful employment and provide training for adults with disabilities. It will offer on-premise fresh-roasted, fair trade coffee from South America and Africa and the beans will be roasted by adults with disabilities. Our Community Cup Coffee, as it is called, will be available by the cup in the new location and will also be packaged for sale in the shop as well as at farmers’ markets throughout the region. A portion of all proceeds of coffee sales will go to New Avenue Foundation.

Burlap and Bean has opened its new roast house in Media, located at 455 W. Baltimore Ave. on the west end of town. The spot will become Burlap and Bean’s main roasting facility and will also serve a similar menu to the company’s other locations in Newtown Square and on the campus of Delaware County Community College.
Chester Springs’ Scooped Ice Cream now has a second location at 25 W. State Street. Besides ice cream, Scooped also offers a Liege waffle station. Think fresh, warm waffles topped with delicious Scooped ice cream.
Yia: It’s All Greek to Me is now open in the former home of Berry Fresh Café at 300 W. State Street. It’s owned by a group of cousins whose roots are in Athens, Greece—Marina Liapis; her husband, Argyrios; Sotirios Bampalis; and his wife, Katerina. The menu includes Greek specialties like moussaka, spanakopita, Greek salads, gyros, tzatziki dip and baklava.
