ON DISPLAY: Now through June 21, you can see the works of Philadelphia-based artist James Brantley at Manayunk’s most recent cultural showplace, Bazemore Gallery. Brantley is best known for his blend of impressionistic and abstract styles—especially his surreal landscapes, some of which have been included in permanent collections at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and
numerous private collections.
A visual artist and an interior design consultant, Penn Valley’s Lenny Bazemore (pictured) has traveled the world in search of inspiration for
his paintings. His gallery’s design is based on the five elements of feng shui: wood, fire, metal, water and earth. Next up at Bazemore starting June 28: Polish artist Ella Kolanowska, whose unique oil-on-canvas pointillism was chosen to been featured on the set of Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes’ upcoming series, How to Get Away With Murder, which filmed its pilot episode at Bryn Mawr College this past March. 4339 Main St., Philadelphia, (215) 482-1119, www.thebazemoregallery.com.
