Makeup Madness

I was so bummed to hear West Chester’s best makeup boutique, Plain Jane, is closing its doors.

I was so bummed to hear West Chester’s best makeup boutique, Plain Jane, is closing its doors. Plain Jane’s Michelle and Annie were always so super-friendly and helpful, and they really had a unique concept. To clear out their inventory, they’ll host two half-off-everything sales Nov. 11 and 18. And while the ladies from Plain Jane will miss their storefront, they’re stoked about their new venture, Plain Jane Mobile—everything you loved about the shop brought right to your doorstep, including hair and makeup services and parties with your girlfriends. For a date with Plain Jane’s “Glam Squad,” e-mail plainjaneboutique@hotmail.com. 128 E. Gay St., West Chester; (610) 918-0230, plainjaneboutique.com.

Definite “Don’t”

To any men reading this blog, pay attention. I didn’t know True Religion made jeans for men until I saw Dennis Quaid wearing them in the current issue of Architectural Digest. Ugh! Their signature, oversized yellow stitching looks great on women but downright cheesy on guys. With a price tag of at least $284, they should look a lot better.

Coming Soon …

Look for reports on my upcoming trip to Great Estate Consignment Shop in Bryn Mawr, along with the scoop on my first facial at Facelogic in Newtown Square and foot massage detoxification treatment at Polished in Wayne (I’m a little concerned about the last one, but I know Marina’s fabulous staff will take good care of me). Happy shopping!
