For these two couples, spring and summer were the perfect seasons to tie the knot and celebrate their love on the Main Line.

Amanda Brennan + Keith Brown

MAY 21, 2022

Though Amanda and Keith both attended Boston College at the same time, the two didn’t meet until three years after graduation. “We started dating a couple months after that,” says Amanda, who grew up in Bryn Mawr and Newtown Square.

Three years later, Keith popped the question in a rooftop garden overlooking the Empire State Building. The plan also included a night at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, and a day at the spa.

The newly engaged couple quickly settled on Old St. Joseph’s Church in Philadelphia, where Amanda’s parents were married in 1986. When it came time to choose a nearby reception venue, they opted for the grand ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton in Center City.

Amanda and Keith celebrated their nuptials with 200 guests and their dog, Maple, who posed for photos before the ceremony. Amanda’s sister sang Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” for the newlyweds’ first dance, and the party continued in the Ritz-Carlton’s Exchange Room with a DJ and late-night snacks.

Lisa Glover + Brian Tareila

JULY 4, 2022

Lisa and Brian’s love story began the way all great romances do—over a shared passion for ’90s music and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky. They were introduced by a mutual friend at a party in New York City, where Lisa was living at the time. After more than year of coordinating weekend visits between New York and Brian’s place in Philadelphia, they finally moved in together in Philly.

On their walks together, Lisa and Brian grew fond of a particular bench in Rittenhouse Square, which became the perfect spot for a proposal. They ended the special day with Fourth of July fireworks at Spruce Street Harbor Park. “By some miracle, a jogger ran past, saw the whole proposal happening, and snapped a bunch of photos of the moment,” says Lisa. “I’m so grateful to have those pictures.”

The newly engaged couple knew they wanted a summer wedding, but they weren’t particularly thrilled about the idea of a traditional ballroom setting. They chose Paoli’s Anthony Wayne House, with its beautiful outdoor setting and farmhouse tables. They hosted their rehearsal dinner at Malvern’s Fox Barn at Twenty9, inviting out-of-town guests to join them after dinner for drinks and light bites.

On a beautiful Fourth of July afternoon, Lisa and Brian exchanged vows in front of Lisa’s cousin, who served as the officiant, and 176 guests. Décor included a custom mirror with the words, “Dance like you’ve waited a year for this,” a cheeky nod to their rescheduling fiascos due to COVID. “After planning, postponing and rescheduling this wedding so many times, we finally had the wedding we always imagined, surrounded by everyone we loved most,” Lisa says.
