In Japan, autumn is considered the ideal time to build up a good appetite, thanks to freshly harvested fall produce and the need to store energy as the temperature drops. In celebration of this seasonal change, Maido! in Ardmore will host a Japanese Food Festival on Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Featured cuisine will include traditional, homestyle cooking like Japanese pumpkin (kabocha) cream stew, one-pod soup and Japanese-style paella. These dishes are typical Japanese comfort food, bound to warm the soul.
Maido! staff will also be available to explain how to cook the dishes at home and what ingredients to buy, so you can impress your friends at your next dinner party. In addition to these featured foods, the kitchen will offer its regular menu, just in case you’re craving more. The event itself is free, but meals ordered from the food counter are not.
