Longwood Gardens and Chanticleer Named Among Nation's Top 10 Public Gardens

In honor of National Garden Month, take advantage of two local gems in Longwood and Chanticleer. PLUS: West Elm comes to the King of Prussia Mall.

Natural Art

On June 7, the Radnor Historical Society and Radnor Conservancy host a tour of four area gardens—one on Dodo Hamilton’s famed estate in Wayne. Unfortunately, the event is open only to members of either organization.

But don’t dismay: You might want to consider a walk in one of our many public gardens this summer. In honor of National Garden Month, Trip Advisor named two local spots among the top 10 best public gardens nationwide: Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square and Chanticleer in Wayne. Other notable picks include the venerable Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Meanwhile, Chanticleer is busy celebrating its 20th anniversary as a public garden.

West is the Best

Interior design enthusiasts are giving a big, warm welcome to West Elm, which opened last month in the King of Prussia Mall. A division of Williams-Sonoma, West Elm is known for its transitional style—a happy marriage of the traditional and the modern—inherent in its furniture and accessories for the home.
