Continued from Maureen Doron‘s Strathmere escape.
Shore escape: Avalon (Memorial Day-September). “My husband and I have had a place there for the past eight years. His family has been coming here since 1973.”
Fun fact: Lisa’s father, Bob Gaudio, co-founded the Four Seasons with Frankie Valli. “My dad would play in Shore towns from Asbury Park to Wildwood when he was in the band. People always stop me and say things like, ‘I remember seeing your dad and Frankie play on Steel Pier.’ I love hearing those stories.”
Eats: “On Saturday nights, you can find us at Fuze Restaurant & Mirage Lounge (7888 Dune Drive, Avalon; 609-368-1919, fuzerestaurantandlounge.com). They have great food and a really fun atmosphere. This summer, the same owners are opening Fuze Italian Ristorante (2901 Dune Drive, Avalon). I can’t wait to try it out.” • “Jay’s on Third (9836 Third Ave., Stone Harbor; 609-368-1000, jaysonthird.com) has a fabulous Asian fusion menu.” • “My father-in-law’s favorite is Busch’s Seafood Restaurant (8700 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City; 609-263-8626, buschsseafood.com). We always end up going there a couple times during the season.” • “For breakfast, it’s always Uncle Bill’s Pancake House (various locations, unclebillspancakehouse.com) or the Avalon Anchorage Marina (885 21st St., Avalon; 609-967-3592, avalonanchorage.com).”
Shopping: “I can always find a cute outfit at Skirt (272 96th St., Stone Harbor; 609-948-4912, shop-skirt.com).” • “The Preppy Palm (2533 Dune Drive, Avalon; 609-368-7300, thepreppypalm.com) is the perfect place to find a hostess gift or birthday present—or something for yourself.” • “If I need accessories or shoes to complete an outfit, Boutique Bellissima (2513 Dune Drive, Avalon; 609-967-4343, bellissimaavalon.com) never disappoints.”
Pampering: “I’m really picky about massages, and the best place to go at the Shore is Sunstone Massage Wellness (2819 Dune Drive, Avalon; 609-368-0222, sunstone.massagetherapy.com). The massage therapists there are amazing.”
