Lauren Baldwin turns patients into friends. One patient, Robin, was participating in a clinical trial consisting of multiple intradermal injections over several weeks. She nearly passed out due to her severe needle phobia.
Lauren was determined to help. Robin is a huge Kenny Chesney fan, which led to us singing along to on of his songs playing from my phone while Lauren discreetly started the injections. Halfway through the song, Robin asked if Lauren had started yet.
Singing was enough to distract Robin for the rest of the injections. She was grateful to Lauren for caring enough to take those extra steps.
