La Colombe opened its first café in the Philadelphia suburbs on June 13, complementing its four locations in Center City. La Colombe Bryn Mawr is located in the new mixed retail/office development of Bryn Mawr Village. Bryn & Dane’s, a healthy fast-casual restaurant, will also be opening in the same area.
“We are so happy to begin serving the Philadelphia Main Line,” said JP Iberti, president and co-founder of La Colombe. “The collection of vibrant neighborhoods that surrounds the city is part of the reason we started our business here.”
La Colombe Bryn Mawr occupies a former auto garage and features high ceilings, original brick walls and a garage door, allowing ample light. The 2,000-square-foot café also boasts large skylights, hand-crafted hardwood furniture and an installation of indoor plants in hardwood planter boxes at the entrance.
The menu offers both traditional and inventive coffee drinks, including the revolutionary Draft Latte, which is served cold on tap or in a can to go. The Draft Latte was an invention of Todd Carmichael, who thought of and created the process for beautifully textured, frothed milk and cold-pressed espresso beverage.
The café also serves food, including egg sandwiches, onion tarts, pastrami croissants, salads and a hummus platter, all prepared at La Colombe Fishtown in Philadelphia.
With the opening of La Colombe Bryn Mawr, the company now operates a total of 18 cafés throughout New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Boston. La Colombe works directly with coffee farmers to source the best tasting and most exotic beans, and roasts them to accentuate their natural flavors.
La Colombe Bryn Mawr is open from 6:30 a.m.–7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
