KMR Arts @ 251 Dekalb Brings Unique Photography to King of Prussia

IMAGE IS EVERYTHING: Main Line native Kathy McCarver Root has a simple but compelling purpose behind her new KMR Arts @ 251 gallery in King of Prussia: to bring “world-class photographic art to the Main Line.”

A former photo and art editor for the likes of Esquire, Us Weekly and InStyle, Root has made a name for herself as a leading champion of the photographic medium with her flagship gallery in Connecticut. She’s also the daughter of former Phillies catcher and sports broadcaster Tim McCarver.

This past fall, KMR Arts @ 251 debuted with Deception, featuring the work (pictured) of world-renowned photographer Sandi Fellman. The exhibition continues through Jan. 21. “We aim to curate the most unique and awe-inspiring photographic art by well-known artists,” says Root. “Photography is a democratic medium. Everybody has clicked a photo at one point or another, but Fellman is among those who have elevated this medium to an art form by showing us the true potential it has to shape how we can process everything around us.”

Root also works with everyone from first-time buyers to established collectors to purchase and install photography in residential and commercial spaces.
