Kids Write and Illustrate Their Own Books at The Little Publisher

Share

Plenty of us still love to read the old-fashioned way—at least, that’s what The Little Publisher is banking on. Dana Hurley founded her Malvern business based on her enthusiasm for writing and her love of ink on paper. Here, kids can conceive, write and illustrate their own stories, which are then bound and published as books. “I wanted to get kids away from videogames and television, and back to print,” says Hurley, who lives in West Chester.

Befitting its name, The Little Publisher’s target audience is children ages 4-12. Hurley hosts summer camps, birthday parties themed around a favorite book, and individual writing sessions tailored to all needs and skill levels.

“The children are so pure and genuine. I love seeing what stories they come up with,” says Hurley. “The drawings are amazing, too.”

For grown-ups, there’s a Friday evening wine-and-cheese event.
