Kick Up Your Kitchen Game with These Culinary Classes

The Wayne Art Center has a full slate of classes, ranging from healthy Indian cuisine to sustainable local foods.

The Wayne Art Center spring session is in full swing with a slate of diverse culinary classes in which participants will learn from local chefs, taste a menu of delicious foods and mingle with others interested in upping their kitchen game.

Cooking Demo and Tasting with Yellow Springs Inn

Join Chef Charlie Orlando from the historic Yellow Springs Inn for a cooking demonstration and tasting on Tues., May 17, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Yellow Springs works closely with local and family-owned farms to serve the region’s finest produce, wine, cheese and other foods. This class is BYOB and is $25 per person.

Heart-Healthy Indian Cooking and Wine

On Thursday, May 19, from 6:30–9 p.m., Chef Shailu Jaswal will show you how to prepare easy, healthy and delicious Indian recipes that can be made in just 30 minutes. You’ll be amazed how simple it is to cook your favorite Indian dishes. The menu will include tofu sabzi, baingan bharta (eggplant) and fish curry with cumin rice. Chef Shailu will also match each dish with a complementary wine. This class is $65 per person.

Farm-to-Table Cooking with Jack’s Farm

On Thursday, May 26, from 6:30–8:30 p.m., Chef Chiwishi Joy Abney and Dan Heckler of Jack’s Farm in Pottstown will be in the kitchen to discuss the goodness of eating locally and sustainably. Chef Chiwishi will lead a hands-on cooking lesson using produce from Jack’s followed by a delicious meal. Enjoy this class for $65 per person.

Cooking Demo and Tasting with Sage Catering

The Wayne Art Center continues its popular restaurant series, Tastes of the Towns, on Tuesday, June 7, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Get an insider’s perspective of restaurant kitchens as Chef Dave Kinsey of Sage Catering cooks and shares his food and culinary viewpoint. This class is BYOB and costs $25.
