What are your strongest leadership characteristics?

I’m a believer in authentic leadership—how you lead and behave when no one is watching. I work hard to connect with, motivate and inspire every employee I meet in an authentic way, and I think that goes a long way in uniting people around a shared vision and goal.

What advice would you give to a young woman starting out in the corporate world?

Be bold. Work hard. Speak up. Be authentic and don’t conform to a textbook definition of leadership. Don’t ever assume that years of experience equates to better ideas. Never underestimate the value of personal relationships. Build meaningful relationships even when you don’t need something.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m fortunate to lead a technology business in an era of incredible disruption and digitization. Technology is more relevant than ever, and I think SAP’s portfolio is uniquely positioned to help our customers not just survive but thrive in the digital economy. It’s the individual moments that matter. You can talk about big career accomplishments and accolades, but I get so much satisfaction from the individual conversations with early talent, or coaching someone through a tough problem and seeing them realize they have the ability to solve it on their own.
