HER PERSONAL STYLE: Elegant and minimalistic, feminine but modern, with an emphasis on tailoring to fit women’s curves. I love color and luxurious fabrics that make women feel powerful and pretty at the same time.

HER FASHION ROOTS: I grew up in the Dominican Republic and have loved fashion since I was a little girl. When I was a teenager, I used my mom’s curtains to drape dresses that I wore to parties and events. (My mom still doesn’t know about that.) Later, I was accepted to Parsons School of Design. I loved living in New York and got opportunities to work for Donna Karan and other design houses. In 2015, I opened my own brand. It’s ready-to-wear and made-to-measure. My clothes are available online and in selected boutiques.

HER INDISPENSABLE WARDROBE ITEM: A good handbag.

HER FASHION ICON: Madame Grès, the celebrated French designer known for her impeccable draping in the 1940s and ’50s.
