Brothers Ibrahim and Osman collected more than 100 hospital beds, wheelchairs, bassinets, and other medical equipment and supplies to donate to hospitals in Sierra Leone. They worked with their older brother, Abdul, a minister in that West African nation.
Osman and Ibrahim began organizing the effort in 2014, but due to restrictions enacted around the Ebola crisis, they were unable to ship it until August 2015. The materials arrived in November 2015 at Hospital 36, a military facility temporarily renamed “MLH Sierra Leone.”
Upon receiving the supplies, the president of Sierra Leone sent his advisor and the head chaplain of the armed forces to thank the brothers and Riddle Hospital. Going forward, the Contehs and Main Line Health continue to look for ways to provide medical equipment and supplies to the citizens of Sierra Leone.
