Try This Lemon Velvet Cake With Raspberry-Buttercream Filling

Twin siblings born with baking in their blood, Chad and Christie Weldon are the second generation to reign over the 43-year-old Master’s Baker. With raspberries imbedded in the batter, their three-year-old lemon velvet cake has become a prized pick of brides, who swoon over its whipped raspberry-buttercream filling. “Once the four-inch-thick cake comes out of the oven, we slice it in half and stuff it with the buttercream,” says Chad. “Since the cake is still warm, some of the buttercream melts into the cake, adding an extra punch.” Cakes serving 15-20 begin at $60.
