Beyond the glass: Everyone knows the iconic Ireland-born artist Simon Pearce for his stunning handblown glassware and pottery. But on a recent visit to Simon Pearce on the Brandywine in West Chester for its 10th-anniversary celebration, I was surprised to find that the retail shop’s inventory went well beyond the tabletop.
Aside from handcrafted glass stemware and pottery dinnerware of various shapes and sizes, you’ll find artisan-made tables and chairs. Only available in-store, the furniture line includes sturdy farm tables and upholstered wing and side dining chairs. “We include pieces with very classic construction,” says Simon Pearce spokesman Ross Evans. “The aesthetic matches the Simon Pearce stemware and glassware.”
Available both online and in-store, wedding and gift registries can include additional home accents like distinctive glass and pottery lamps, sleek hanging pendant lights, oven-to-table bakeware, and glass chillers and carafes, plus decanters and other elegant bar accessories. Most glass designs can be engraved for a personalized touch.
