Showstopping Kitchens: Eight Main Line homeowners will open their extraordinary kitchens to the public on Nov. 5 as part of the Notable Kitchen Tour and Chef Showcase. The inaugural event is the brainchild of the Main Line Associates of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
At each kitchen, you can pick up culinary tips and sample cuisine from reputable area chefs offering cooking demonstrations. Elsewhere, local florists and retailers will stage picture-perfect table settings.
The tour also includes a special stop at the recently completed, state-of-the-art kitchen in the Wayne Art Center, which will offer an art exhibition inspired by culinary subjects, along with cooking demos by noted chef and instructor Brenda Kieffer. Bryn Mawr’s Viking Culinary Center is also getting into the act, offering free demos to tour-goers.
Organizers will raffle off four “musical” chairs by local artist Cathy Jooste, along with four five-piece place settings in the Tiffany Holiday china pattern donated by Tiffany & Co. Proceeds from the event benefit the Philadelphia Orchestra.
