Heavy metal: Nothing sets the tone for a majestic estate more than wrought iron entry gate. Many of those found on the Main Line are handcrafted originals from Artesano Iron Works in Philadelphia. Artesano utilizes centuries-old techniques to create iron and bronze masterpieces—both forged and cast by hand. Adding to its galleries in Philadelphia and Lansdale, Artesano has opened Artesano Iron Works Home Décor in Wayne.
“We’re well known with people in the trade, like interior designers and architects,” says manager Curt Youndt.
The latest location is meant to showcase Artesano for mainstream clients. For the inside of the home, you’ll find tables, chairs, chandeliers and armoires made with metal and other materials like reclaimed wood, natural stone, copper and leather. The gallery also has a diverse collection of décor perfect for sprucing up outdoor spaces, including iron sculptures and fountains from artist Ricardo Cabrera. Another Artesano necessity: multifunctional iron pot bases.
