» Showplace for charity: The highly anticipated DogHaus returns to the area this month. Starting Oct. 11, the public is invited to tour Edgcumbe House in Chestnut Hill, where some of the area’s top designers will transform more than 20 spaces. Proceeds from the event benefit Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals adoption programs. Interior designer Chris McCloud, president of Design 6 in Narberth, is among the Main Line participants making over a space in the house. A socially responsible interior designer who saw a “demand for fabulous green-ovations” in the Philadelphia area, McCloud has responded with affordable design and decorating packages that give a room of any size a facelift without compromising the environment. McCloud’s DogHaus room will use an innovative, eco-friendly design concept powered by solar energy. Other designers involved in the event include Carrie Leskowitz, Rebecca Paul Residential Design, Michael Shannon Designs and Burke Brothers Landscape Design/Build. DogHaus kicks off with a preview party Oct. 10 and is open to the public the following day through Nov. 9. Visit pspca.org for more information.
