The Fairmount Park House Holiday Tour Is Magical

News & Events

» Homes for the holidays: Get an up-close look at some of the most significant examples of 18th- and early-19th-century domestic architecture at the Fairmount Park House Holiday Tour Dec. 2-6 and 9-13. Among the seven homes opening their doors for guided tours, the circa-1767 Georgian-style Laurel Hill will be decked out in fresh greenery and feature an extensive Santa Claus collection courtesy of Women for Greater Philadelphia and the Community Garden Club of Wayne.

Complimentary tea will be served, along with treats from the Colonial Sweet Shoppe, and choral groups will perform holiday music. Proceeds from the tours benefit preservation of the homes. Tours run 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $5 per house; $3 for seniors. For more information, visit fairmountparkhouses.org.

Note: The largest of the Fairmount Park homes, Historic Strawberry Mansion is currently closed for preservation. Help fund those efforts Dec. 3 at the Holiday Greens Sale and Boutique in the park’s Lloyd Hall. You’ll find fresh greenery, boxwood trees, topiaries, baked goods and more. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, visit historicstrawberrymansion.org or call (215) 228-8364.
