Wynnewood’s Diana Hollander is on a mission to erase the all-encompassing stigma associated with her line of work. Hollander’s Clipboard Interiors allows clients to tailor the interior-design experience to their specific needs—and nothing more. Among the most popular services offered: space planning and color consultations, along with basic interior-design advice and organization. Fees are paid à la carte. “I’ve seen a need for this type of service for a long time,” says Hollander, who’s been in the field for more than 35 years. “I just want to see interior design become more accessible.”
And Hollander debunks the contention that it has to be expensive. “Price is definitely a deterrent,” she says. “People also think they need to hire a designer for an entire house project.”
Hollander has been called in many times to fix mistakes she says could’ve been avoided. “People have no problem calling an electrician or plumber when they need work done,” Hollander says. “That’s how I want them to feel with interior design.”
Whether it’s a first-time homeowner, downsizing retirees or something in between, Hollander offers a team of local professionals with distinct skill sets. Consultations can be done in the home or via email. Recently, a realtor even purchased a Clipboard gift certificate for a client who’d just purchased a second home in Florida. “We just did a color consult for a young man in Philadelphia—he didn’t have the budget to do more,” says Hollander. “This is the future of interior design.” Visit clipboardinteriors.com.
