High School Sweethearts Jennifer Hester and Billy Haft’s Merion Tribute House Wedding

The couple said “I do” on April 21, 2018.

It seems less often these days that you find your soul mate in high school. But that’s the case for Jennifer Hester and Billy Hafft, who met when they were 15 and 16, respectively.

After dating for seven years, Billy popped the question on Dec. 26, 2015, surrounded by Jenn’s family, who were gathered for the holidays. The Glenside native rigged a gift exchange—with a little help from Jenn’s sister—so he could propose. While Jenn’s back was turned to pick her gift, Billy got down on one knee.

Nearly 10 years after they first began dating, they tied the knot this past April. They now live with their black lab in Hatboro.

“The weather is typically beautiful in April, which was a vital part of our decision because we knew we wanted to get married outside,” says Jenn, a Willow Grove native.

They held the ceremony and reception at the Merion Tribute House, where flowers and plants played a big part in the décor. “The venue is just the most beautiful, unique place,” says Jenn of Merion Tribute House, which was built in the Arts and Crafts style in 1924. “My favorite part of my wedding was finally marrying the love of my life in front of my family and closest friends.”
