Halloween Parade to Follow Phoenixville Pumpkinfest

Expert carving demonstrations, pumpkin dishes and a pumpkin-painting contest highlight the event.

A favorite gourd and synonymous with the season, the pumpkin will be showcased in downtown Phoenixville’s Pumpkinfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

Pumpkinfest is a free family-friendly festival featuring Derby races, a carnival, crafts, live music and more. An expert will be on hand demonstrating his prowess as part of the carving contest. Attendees can also sample pumpkin dishes from local restaurants or compete in one of the contests. Following Pumpkinfest, there will be a Halloween parade down Bridge Street to round out the fun.

While Pumpkinfest itself is a one-day event, the area’s restaurants will celebrate through Oct. 22 by serving their contest pumpkin dish. Participating establishments this year include Bistro on Bridge, Molly Maguire’s and Pepperoncini Sotto. Expect unique concoctions like pumpkin chicken curry or pumpkin risotto. Those who sample ahead of time can vote for their favorite dish, or sample them at Pumpkinfest.
