Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror

Like the idea of watching Matt and Meredith every morning as you gaze at yourself in the mirror? Well, your time has come. The latest must-have bathroom upgrade is the Séura television mirror, its LCD screen appearing at the touch of a button. Shut the power off, and the image disappears.
The LCD screen comes in a variety of sizes, and the image is impressively clear. And there’s also stereo sound—the television can be connected to any Lutron Electronics (or comparable) home entertainment system.

The “invisibility” of the TV ensures that it won’t disrupt even the sleekest bathroom décor. It’s also a space-saver, so you won’t have to give up any precious counter space. Multiple TV mirrors can be installed throughout a large master bath—even facing the tub so you can watch while you soak.

We spied this new technology at a preview walk-through of NBC 10’s Concept Home, which is scheduled for an October unveiling. The station has partnered with TL Concepts, Welcome Home Builders and Allison Forbes of Forbes Design to design and build the new multi-million dollar home in Berwyn. Cinemaplex Technologies of Spring City is doing the design and installation of all the home’s electronics, including the Séura television mirror. The home should be open to the public in October; tours benefit Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House.

And for those still on the fence about the television mirror, think of it this way: Sleep and relationship experts recommend you keep TV out of the bedroom so it can remain a place of tranquility. That in mind, isn’t the bathroom as good a place as any?
