Question: What’s the best way to incorporate family pictures into my home décor?

Answer: Jayne Burchmore, Framers’ Market Gallery, Exton (framersmarketgallery.com) Many clients create collages of framed family photos for prominent walls in the family room, hallways, staircases or landings, even kitchens. It’s an easy way to add a personalized feel to a home.

The most time-consuming part of the project is sorting through and selecting the pictures you want to display. Older photos in black-and-white or sepia bring visual interest to a collage and can be mixed with colored pictures. And there’s no such thing as too many photos.

Traditionally ornate, silver-toned frames complement most photos. They needn’t be identical: they should be a variety of shapes and sizes. If you’re going for a more contemporary look, black frames can achieve that aesthetic—especially with black-and-white prints.
